Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components
An upgrade item is a special item that can make certain Pokemon change. The upgrade can be obtained by spinning a PokeStop's photo disc, and is often offered as a reward in Pokemon GO events.
The Upgrade can also be found in armor, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to boost their level of use. The upgrade cost Flightstones and crests, based on the type of item.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to provide attribute bonuses or additional effects when the equipment is utilized. Upgrade components are only available on equipment that has an upgrade slot available. Most upgrade components also require that the item being upgraded is at a certain level. Certain upgrade items also come with special visual effects when they are added to an equipment piece. Upgrade components can be acquired through crafting, purchased from karma sellers, traded with other players on the Trading Post or salvaged from equipment, or acquired as rewards in games.
There are various upgrade components, each of which comes with a different bonus. Universal upgrades, such as gems and inscriptions can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer fewer bonuses than other kinds of upgrade component. Infusions can be utilized on non-amulet and legendary ascended items, while enrichments are able to be used on back equipment that is ascended. Injecting an upgrade component will cause the destruction of the previous upgrade. Exceptions are glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and Enchantments, which can be removed and then reinserted.
Insignias and enchantments will show their name in the hover display of the item, while upgrades that have a suffix or prefix will add their names to the end of the equipment name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia on Tyrian Armor would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components that have been added to an equipment piece will be visible in the tooltip of the item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements like ligatures and fractions, ornaments, swashes registered trademark symbols, and ellipses. The Glyphs Panel allows you to insert and examine these special characters, along with common symbols like em and en dashes as well being trademark symbols that are registered.
Each Glyph gives an initial boost to the stats of the character. Casesgg may also include up to four secondary stats which will alter the radius of your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase which is multiplied by other bonuses, with the exception of Speed Glyphs that directly increase the hero’s speed.
Selecting the Glyphs and clicking "enchant" will activate the Glyphs. This will open a window that shows the Glyphs available to you. Make sure you select the right kind of Glyph can be applied to the item you are looking for and every weapon, jewelry or armor piece has an array of different Glyphs.
Glyphs can be upgraded by running Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult the Dungeon is, the greater Glyph experience you'll gain. Once a Glyph is at level 15, it can be upgraded on the Glyph Upgrade Altar. Upgrades to a Glyph increases its radius on the Paragon Board by one node every 15 levels.
When a Glyph is at the desired level, it is possible to activate it. Select it and click the "enchant button". The resulting Glyph will give its stated benefit, and boost all other nodes in its range on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should be put where they will benefit your build the most. This is why you should prioritize Magic Glyphs as soon as possible. Rare glyphs may also offer double bonuses if certain conditions can be satisfied.
Click the cycle widget to alter the view of the Glyphs Panel. Each of these views shows the Glyphs in different fonts. You can reduce the number of glyphs by selecting an option below "Entire Font". For instance, punctuation only shows punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols restricts the selection to mathematical symbols.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process by which you create a new account to give yourself more chances to access a character or weapon that you are interested in. This can aid in your progress to higher levels or to gain better loot, like a better weapon for your current character. Many players play until the character they want is available, regardless of strength. It could be that they like the design or personality of the character.
It is important to make a clean change when you restart. You should test locally if the patch passes pre-commit and run a Core dev test. It is also recommended to upload the patch to an issue with an unmodified diff (see What is an interdiff? ).

Sets

However it's important to keep in mind that not all set items are good candidates for upgradation. Certain sets, like the FB Sorc Whistan's Shield spec or Naj's Puzzler staff are already exceptional and elite in their own right and don't require upgrading. On the other hand, some items that are BiS and see frequent use (like Goldwrap) may benefit by being upgraded to boost their performance even more. For these types of items, it could be worth the extra expense to upgrade them.
